Finding Value

DO you know how to place value on another human being? How to show respect for ALL people by treating them honorably?

The Bible says,

"Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you"

Ephesians 4:32 ESV

It also states

"And as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them"

Luke 6:31 ESV

In neither reference, you find "only be tenderhearted to those who agree with you" or "only treat the people you like as you would like to be treated." They don't say that. In fact, Jesus' life teaches us to show value and respect for ALL people.

So many times we lose sight of what the word value means as it relates to people and think of it only in relation to monetary worth. The definition of value is "the regard that something" is held to deserve; the importance, worth, or usefulness of something.

"This is what our Scriptures come to teach: in everything, in every circumstance, do to others as you would have them do to you"

Matthew 7:12 The Voice

God values ALL people, and that includes us. Are we living like God values us by valuing the relationships we are in?

Tangible Takeaway

How we value ALL human beings reveals our relationship with God. It is isomorphic-same but different.

Read Psalm 139 in its entirety to see the value God places on you. Live like you are valued by God so you can "show respect for all people [treat them honorably]."
